Sport at St Theresa's
Sporting Successes
We are extremely proud of our sporting successes at St Theresa’s and we are always keen to be competitive but fair. Our sporting mantra is to play hard and play fair and accept victory and defeat with equal grace.
We achieved the following successes by the end of 2025-2026:
Football
Year 3 football: The boys finished 1st in a very competitive league at Power League, rivalling against a total of 13 schools.
Year 4 football: They boys focused on their training this year, in preparation for competition in 2026-2027.
Year 5 football: The boys team won the Under 10s East Leeds League. They went on to win the Champions of Champions trophey, along with the Moran Cup and the Leeds United Trophey- winning every single game in the school year.
Year 6 football: The boys became league winners for under 11s.
Year 6 girls football: The girls trained each week and developed their skills.
Athletics
The athletics team became Leeds champions and even went on to place 2nd in the Yorkshire final.
Tag Rugby
The Year 6 tag rugby team became Leeds Champions for the fourth time in five years.
Skipping
Year 2 skipping: The team did very well and became Leeds skipping champions.
Year 4 skipping: The Year 4 team competed at the Leeds skipping competition and did themselves proud.
Cross country
The cross country team became East Leeds team champions for Year 3 and Year 4.
Netball:
Every year the Year 5 and 6 girls compete in the Bishop Roche cup. They have done very well in the 2025-2026 academic year.
Cantenian Cup
St Theresa's hosted the Catenian Cup in Summer 2026. What a fabulous day for all involved!
Sports Awards 2026
Well done to everyone who represented the school in any sports. Mr Rowley and Mrs Speight hosted the Sports Awards to celebrate the following children who were presented with an award:
